Bruce J. Wilson established the Hampton University Student Managed Investment Fund amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in the spring semester of 2021. Bruce's investment career started at Brown Advisory in Washington, DC where he worked as a Portfolio Analyst and Business Development Strategist. Subsequently, Mr. Wilson transitioned into Investment Banking within the Global Industrials, Origination & Advisory group at Deutsche Bank from the firm's Chicago office. Bruce Wilson then served the State of Illinois through the Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity, in the Office of Entrepreneurship, Innovation, and Technology by helping lead the development of the Illinois Innovation Venture Fund as the inaugural Venture Capital Program Platform Coordinator where he had a direct role in sourcing investment opportunities and deploying capital to socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs. Bruce Wilson served on the National Investment Committee of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc from 2021 - 2023. Mr. Wilson is currently an emerging talent in the private equity industry and is passionate about building businesses and closing the racial wealth gap. Bruce Wilson received his Bachelors of Arts in Political Science, magna cum laude, in May 2021.
